Roger Federer picks up $31,000 for his first-round win at the US Open in Flushing Meadows, adding to his $49,977,919 total prize money going into the tournament. This makes Federer the first player in tennis history to earn more than $50 million in career prize money.

World No. 1 Roger Federer defeated rookie Devin Britton (6-1, 6-3, 7-5) in the first-round.

Shaquille O’Neal will challenge women’s beach volleyball gold medal Olympians Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh to a 2-on-2 match at the Hermosa Beach volleyball courts in Hermosa Beach, CA.

Here’s a video of Shaquille O’Neal training with Todd Rogers and Phil Dalhausser in preparation for his beach volleyball match against Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh. The challenge is for the new TV series Shaq VS. where Shaq goes up against other athletes in their own sports.

The episode with Misty and Kerri will air tonight on ABC at 9:00 PM EST.

Roger Federer captured his fourth ATP World Tour title of the year as the top seed at Western & Southern Financial Group Masters in Cincinnati after defeating fourth seed Novak Djokovic 6-1, 7-5 in one hour and 31 minutes. This win is also his third trophy at Western & Southern Financial Group Masters.

Federer now has 16 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles, second only to Andre Agassi’s 17.

Adi Dassler registered his company on August 18th,1949 and since then adidas has a long history with FIFA and Soccer/Football.

adidas was the first to introduce screw-in studs in 1954 worn by the players of the FIFA World Cup winning German national team.

In 2006, adidas introduced the first 14-panel configuration forming a smooth round exterior allowing significant improvements in accuracy and control for the FIFA World Cup in Germany.
